CPL 2020: Jamaica Tallawahs v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Betting Tips & Predictions

Andre Rusell

The Patriots reached the end of the road a while ago, realistically, but it’s all to play for as regards Jamaica. So we have one team desperate to secure a Top 4 place, at worst, and a Top 2 finish at best, against one who probably wishes the tournament was over already.

That’s the backdrop to this encounter taking place on September 3, start time 15:00 IST.

Up next are the pluses and minuses for each side, a few cool stats and of course, those all-important CPL cricket betting tips so that it’s not just about entertainment, but hopefully, also making some profit.

Jamaica Tallawahs v St Kitts and Nevis Patriots betting tips and predictions

Up next are our best bets for this (seemingly) one-sided match, but remember that placing good wagers after careful, well-thought-out research at our end is only half the battle. It’s also vital to make sure that you always secure the best-possible betting rates, and you do that by having several accounts and always placing the bets with the best betting sites that offer those highest odds.

All the sites we recommend have all the things we consider important when assessing how good a Sportsbook is, including good welcome bonus, strong live betting product, easy to use the mobile app, variety of markets and as mentioned already, generous odds.

Back over 0.5 total match maidens.2.87In other words, we think there could well be a maiden over (no runs scored off it) in the match. That’s because Rahman and Lamichanne for Jamaica can at times be unplayable and against such a poor batting line-up, it’s really not out of the question that they bamboozle and fool the opposition batsmen over the course of an over. It’s certainly worth a punt.Betway
Back Under 19.5 runs for Chris Lynn.1.83Poor old Chris Lynn Time and time again found wanting against spinners on worn tracks.  Here are his scores so far: 19, 16, 14, 16, 0, 8 and 34. So that’s one match out of seven where he’s passed 19.5 runs. Yes, he’s come close but not close enough. It’s worth backing him to get another low score.Betway

Jamaica Tallawahs’ recent form

It’s been a strange season so far and it says a lot about how strong the Knight Riders have been (they’ve beaten everyone, so restricted points other teams might have had) and how weak the Tridents and the Patriots have been, that despite having won just three from seven, they’re still very much in it, currently lying in fourth place.

Their first priority will be to win this game, put more daylight between them and the Tridents as it’s a game in hand, and make sure that they’ll at least be in the Play-Offs. Then they can worry about improving and going further up the table.

It may have been a much better return had Andre Russell been available for all seven games. The Windies all-rounder has two fifties from five games and his 166 runs were scored at a strike rate of 134, which is huge for a tournament where batting hasn’t always been easy. It’s crucial that they keep him fit- the two games he missed was through injury-  because he’s completely irreplaceable.

Overseas spin twins Mujeen Ur Rahman and Sandeep Lamichhane have been brilliant but then again, we suspected they would be. They have 13 and 10 wickets respectively and their economy rate is below 6 for the tournament, simply world-class.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ recent form

We’re not sure what to say that hasn’t been said before, but we’ll try.

We’ve already talked in length in past previews about how Ben Dunk and Chris Lynn aren’t players for these sorts of wickets and this we’ll add that they could be forgiven for feeling let down by the efforts of their two Windies star bowlers: Alzarri Joseph and Sheldon Cottrell. They’ve taken five and three wickets respectively and though that isn’t particularly bad, their economy rates are at 8.2 and 9.2 respectively. Which is pretty bad.

They’re far from being the only ones who let the side down. Dinesh Ramdin is yet to reach 50 in eight attempts and star Windies batter Elwin Lewis only did so once. The fact that he’s the team’s top scorer despite that, tells its own story.

Serious re-thinking is needed ahead of next season.
