Bundesliga: Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg odds and tips

At first glance, the Bundesliga odds about Wolfsburg look decent enough.

They’re 2.05 to beat a side who is 17th and facing the very real prospect of being relegated.

But arguably the most important metric in sports betting is the head-to-head record between two sides and in that regard, the stats paint a very different picture indeed.

Bremen have won this match at home in each of the last four editions it’s been played, winning 2-0, 3-1, 2-1 and 3-2, so it’s quite remarkable that Indian punters can get them onside at 3.6.

Yes, of course, Bremen haven’t been good of late or else they wouldn’t be in the position they are. But neither have Wolfsburg, who have a beautifully symmetrical record of two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games in the Bundesliga. The value, clearly lies with the hosts, who apart from anything else, are more desperate for the points than the Wolves are.

Back Werder Bremen to win3.6They may be struggling this season but Bremen can take great confidence from the fact they’ve beaten this lot every single time over the past four seasons, at home. Against a side who’s been pretty inconsistent of late, the odds are too generous to turn down.10CRIC

Belarusian Premier League: FC Vitebsk v BATE Borisov Odds and Tips

Ready for some Belarusian football tips?

Course you are.

BATE Borisov are doing what they generally do: dominate the league. Remarkably, last year was the first time in 13 years that they didn’t win it. Well, they’re right on track again this term and are top with eight wins, a draw and two loses from 11 matches. They’re currently on a run of eight wins- two in the Cup and six in the league.

Vitebsk in the meanwhile are down in 11th and are on a strange run of four straight draws. That’s not bad form, but it’s also not the sort of form that will trouble a side as dominant as BATE.

One of the signs of a winning team is that they score their goals early and that’s the case with BATE, who were leading at half-time in four of their five recent wins. The odds on them doing so again are far better than just on the straight win.

Back BATE/BATE on the half time/full time market2.38All stats point to BATE winning this game but the odds on the straight win are a bit skinny. It’s preferable to get with them to be leading at half-time and still winning at full-time at odds that are much more inflated. As we’ve said already, that’s how they’ve gone about their business in four of their last five wins so it shouldn’t be too hard for them to do it again.Betway

Portuguese Superliga: Rio Ave v Pacos Ferreira Odds and Tips

And we round things off with a Portuguese Superliga preview.  It’s been a good season for Rio Ave, who are up in sixth place and will be eyeing up a Europa League spot, something they haven’t been able to experience that often over the years.

They go into this match as hot favourites against a side down in 16th who will be fighting the drop till the bitter end.

But we can make a case for taking on the hosts. Pacos won two of their last four games, while Rio Ave are something of a draw specialist, with four of those (draws) to go with two wins over their past six games.

As ever, the head-to-head record is worth a look and this is where things get interesting. Rio Ave may have won this game 4-2 last year but before that it was three straight draws.

You need to be a pretty good side to justify odds of 1.65 and though Pacos deserve some respect, they’re not a winning machine just yet. The best bet is to oppose them and keep the visitors and the draw onside.

Back Pacos Ferreira or Draw in the Double Chance market2.15The league standings are the reason for the big gulf in odds but recent form and head-to-head records suggest this match could be a lot closer than it may seem. A draw is very much on the cards here but this way you also have the away win to fall back on.10CRIC
