Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)

An obvious place to start but for a reason: on his day de Bruyne is the best midfielder in the Premier League, bar none.

It’s actually been a strange season for him with plenty of injuries limiting his playing time. On the one hand, four other City players had more Fantasy Football points than him this season, the first time that’s ever happened..

On the other hand he still came up with five goals and 11 assists despite missing almost half the season.

He hasn’t played much recently, with yet another injury. But that’s mostly been done with this game in mind because they need their midfield maestro at his best for this one. It would be just like him to run the show here despite only just returning.

Best Odds: Betway go 3.75 that he scores a goal in the game. But of greater interest may be that he gets an assist. He has four in the Champions League already so look out for odds on another on 10CRIC nearer the time.

Ruben Dias (Manchester City)

Recently voted the Premier League Writer’s Player Of the Season, Dias is one of the main reasons why they’ve had the season they did.

He was the rock at the heart of the City defence. He helped them keep 18 clean sheets in the Premier League and a further eight in the Champions League.

His composure and positioning have been spot on all season and whereas his defensive partner has changed over the course of the season, Dias has always played.

Best Odds: 2.15 on 10CRIC that City can keep a clean sheet here.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Sergio Aguero will be leaving at the end of the season so this is very much his last chance to sign off in style.

The little Argentine has won everything he could in England bar this competition, and this is the one he’s really desperate to win.

Ironically, he’s not guaranteed to start despite being Man City’s all-time leading goalscorer with Pep Guardiola already saying there will be no room for sentimentality when picking his starting XI. But he’ll surely feature at some stage, whether from the start or off the bench.

Best Odds: Betway make him 5.75, both on the first goalscorer and last goalscorer markets.

Jorginho (Chelsea)

The Brazilian-born midfield anchor isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but Thomas Tuchel is just the latest Chelsea manager to appreciate his value.

He’s not fast, he gets booked too much and hardly ever scores goals except from the penalty spot but few can run a game like he can. His range of passing is right up there with the best in the game and all of Chelsea’s attacking football goes through his feet.

Best Odds: He’s 6.0 to score a goal but a better bet might be that he gets a yellow card. Remember to check the odds on that near the time.

Mason Mount (Chelsea)

After a good first season in the Premier League under Frank Lampard, Mount has matured and is an even better player this time round.

He’s been one of the very few ever-present players, as there’s been plenty of midfield rotation at Chelsea this year around him. But Mount always plays.

He has six goals and seven assists in the league and has been particularly good in the Champions League, scoring against Porto and Real Madrid in the previous rounds.

Best Odds: He’s a decent-looking 13.0 with Betway to be first goalscorer and it’s 2.62, also with Betway, that Tuchel’s team go on and lift the trophy.

Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)

Chelsea were a real mess in defence at the start of the season under Lampard and it was the arrival of Mendy which really helped matters.

Taking over from the inconsistent Kepa, Mendy instantly added an extra dose of security and confidence to Chelsea’s defence and he’s been incredibly consistent throughout: safe coming out for crosses, good with his feet and a very capable shot-stopper.

In his last five Champions League knockout games, he’s conceded just once in a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid. They’ll need a big game from the big man.

Best Odds: It’s 3.4 he can help Chelsea keep a clean sheet.
