Best Asia Cup 2023 Odds

Finding good bets such as a side who may well win the match as outsiders or a batter who has a great chance of being his team’s top batsman, is only half the battle.

The other half is to find the best odds you can on those selections.

Successfully backing a top batsman candidate at 8.0 is very different to backing one at 5.0 and one of the secrets to successful cricket betting in the long term is to find betting value, where odds are more generous than they should be.

And that’s what we’re here to do.

In addition to finding you great bets, we also find the best Asia Cup betting odds out there on those selections.

So that if they win, you’ll get far bigger payouts than you would if you got odds on Asia Cup 2023 that were much lower than those.

Here at Bet India, we’re always on the player’s side rather than that of the bookmakers, so we go out of our way to always find you the best sports odds possible, whether that’s at BetwayPure Win or somewhere else.

Other Asia Cup Betting Options

When it comes to Asia Cup betting, there’s certainly plenty to look forward to.

There is of course a betting market on the Asia Cup winner and odds on all the individual matches.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg because there’s plenty more to bet on beyond that when betting online at India’s best betting sites.

And this is a tournament that can cause a few upsets.

Admittedly, India did win the title in the last two editions as hot favourites.

But if you’d turned your attention to the ‘to make the final’ market instead, you could have done a lot worse than side with Bangladesh.

Bangladesh rarely ruffle too many feathers at the biggest international tournaments and are yet to win this one, too.

But they’ve come very close.

They made the final in three of the last four editions. Yes, they lost all three finals and two of those three were at home but you could have got big odds on them on the ‘to make the final’ market.

Let’s look at some of the most popular betting markets on the Asia Cup.

Trophy with a cricket ball to represent the match-winner market

Match Winner

There will be 13 matches played at the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup between the six playing countries.

The six teams will be divided into two groups of three, who play each other in a round-robin format in the group stage, meaning that’s three matches in each group.

The Top 2 from each group then progress to the Super 4 league stage where there are an additional six games; the Top 2 from this stage then go on and play the final.

So lots to look forward to and we’ll tell you what to expect ahead of each match.

Top Batsman

There are two different types of top batsman market when it comes to the Asia Cup.

Firstly, there’s the tournament top batsman market where you’re betting on who will score the most runs across the whole tournament.

In the last edition, it was India’s Shikhar Dhawan who won it with 342 runs, while in 2016 it was Bangladesh’s Sabbir Rahman who won it with 176 runs.

When looking at a top tournament batsman it’s good to go with a player from a country who’s likely to go deep in the tournament because they play more matches and have more chances to accumulate runs.

But you can also bet on the players who will be the top batsman for each individual match on the day.

In both cases it’s always worth focusing on a batsman who features in the Top 3 of the batting order and better still, opening batsmen.

They’re the ones who face the most balls and always get to bat in the Powerplay overs so they have every chance.

But check out our top batsman guide for all you need to know when it comes to picking the best candidates.

Top Bowler

Much of what we said above about top batsmen also applies to top bowler betting in terms of available markets.

But in terms of the top bowler for the tournament, it’s maybe not as clear cut as the top batsman when it comes to picking a winner.

Here are the winners of the last three editions:

  • 2018– Rashid Khan (AFG), Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh), Kuldeep Yadav (IND)- 10 wickets each.
  • 2016- Al Amin-Hossain (Bangladesh) – 11 wickets.
  • 2014- Lasith Malinga (SRL), Saeed Ajmal (PAK)- 11 wickets.

So not only have the top bowlers been from different countries but it’s pretty much a perfect split between pace and spin bowlers, as well.

For advice on what to look out for a top bowler for the whole tournament or for a one-off match ahead of wagering at your chosen betting site, you can read our top bowler guide.

Cricket ball to represent the 1st innings total betting market for online IPL betting

First Innings Total

This has increasingly become one of the most popular markets at any given betting site.

Here you’re wagering on how many runs will be scored by the side batting first.

There are several different ways of doing so.

For example, at a betting site like 10CRIC, they generally quote a particular number of runs, say 160.5 and you can bet simply on whether the side batting first will score more or less runs than that by the end of the innings.

But 10CRIC offers an alternative to that where you have to bet on one of three outcomes. For example:

  • Under 150 runs
  • 151-160- Runs
  • 161 runs or more

There are lots of factors to consider when betting on this market, such as: how good the wicket is, the quality of the bowling side, how good the batsmen in the team batting are, the speed of the outfield and how short the boundaries are.

But take your time while reading our first innings runs guide and you’ll be fully up to speed with everything.

In the 2008 final, his 125 in the first innings went a long way to Sri Lanka beating India in the final.

Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan with the famously slinky action has taken 33 wickets in the competition, which is more than any other bowler in it.

The former Mumbai Indians star wasn’t part of the Sri Lanka team who won the finals in 2004 and 2008 but made the most of other editions to claim so many wickets.

Asia Cup 2023 Teams

Time to look at the Asia Cup teams with a brief analysis of their record in the competition,. star men and their chances of going all the way.

Both common sense and the latest Asia Cup odds suggest this could be a straight shoot-out between pre-tournament favourites India and Pakistan.

But don’t forget about Bangladesh’s strong performance in this competition, especially over the last few editions.

Indian flag

India

The seven-time winners and defending champions are the favourites and with good reason, based on their record in it.

But don’t rule out them making a few experiments in order to find their best side ahead of the World Cup.

Player to watch: Hardik Pandya.

Sri Lankan flag

Sri Lanka

The five-time winners are the second most successful side and the one with the highest win percentage, coming out on top in 34/50 games in the competition (68%).

But those successes were when they had superb sides in the past, including the likes of Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakarra and Muttiah Muralitharan.

This is by no means a vintage side right now and even making the final would be deemed a real success.

Player to watch: Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva.

Pakistan flag

Pakistan

Despite being one of cricket’s powerhouses, Pakistan have won it just twice (2000 and 2012).

Last time out they lost in the semis to Bangladesh, after posting just 202 in 50 overs.

But they have an excellent squad these days and will be feeling confident they can beat India, after finally getting the monkey off their back when they beat them at last year’s World Cup, the first time they’d ever done so.

They have all bases covered, most of all knowledge of UAE conditions after playing so much there over the years. They could be one of the bets of the tournament.

Player to watch: Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Bangladesh Flag

Bangladesh

The Tigers obviously save their best performances for the Asia Cup.

They’ve never won it but three runners-up spots in the last four editions is very impressive and the conditions in the UAE should suit them, given their strength is usually in the spin bowling department.

As ever, much will depend on Shakib Al Hasan, the newly-appointed skipper.

In addition to leading, he’s also their best batsman and bowler but he’ll need support from the likes of Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman if they’re to have another good run.

Player to watch: Shakib Al-Hasan

Afghanistan flag

Afghanistan

One of the most improved sides in world cricket over the past decade or so but one who hasn’t yet ruffled many feathers at the biggest tournaments.

They have limited experience of the Asia Cup with just two appearances and a record of just three wins from nine matches.

Their bowling is always good but their batting can be a bit wayward so they’ll have to improve in that regard.

Key Player: Rashid Khan.

Asia Cup Live Betting

Every betting site we’ve mentioned so far on this page offers Live Betting in addition to pre-match betting.

Generally, you can find the matches available in Live Betting by looking for the tab at the top of the site with that name, although it’s sometimes also known as ‘in-play’.

Live betting means betting on the match while it’s already underway and you can almost always bet until the very last ball of the match on the winner’s market.

Other popular markets available in live betting are first innings runs, top batsman and how many runs will be scored after the first 6/10 overs.

Asia Cup live betting is no exception. Every match will have live betting markets available, meaning the fun doesn’t stop at the toss.

A few advantages to Live Betting include:

  • Watch some of the action on TV/live streaming to get a feel for the game before betting.
  • Take advantage of big odds on sides who are in precarious positions but have a habit of recovering from them and going on to win.
  • Use stats ‘in your locker’ to place value bets in live betting based on what you know. For example, if you know that Pakistan are slow starters when batting but accelerate at the end, you can go with them to get more runs on the first innings runs market than the odds would suggest.
