Galle’s match on Friday was abandoned because of heavy rain. It means the Gladiators have won two and lost one of their first four games. Before the rain came, Samit Patel was the best of Galle’s bowlers again. The Englishman took 1-19 from his four overs.

The Gladiators won the second game with Kandy by 9 wickets – thanks to Gunathilaka’s 94* from 66 balls. Gunathilaka, who made his Test debut against India in 2017, is the man to watch in this game.
