It’s a tough call to make my GT vs PBKS betting tips – on one hand, the table-topping Titans have looked a serious side throughout the competition and deserve to be in poll position to qualify as league leaders. On the other hand, I like the look of this PBKS’ side, even if they’re in danger of missing out on a top four spot. Shikar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, and Liam Livingstone comprise the main battering units in a fearsome batting roster.

I like siding with the outsiders, and I will be doing so once more here. The PBKS are too good a price to turn down – particularly when you consider the way the reverse fixture between these two went earlier in the season.

I have been looking at the live cricket satta rates and other key components of what should be a highly entertaining clash. To find my full match preview, keep scrolling below!

The clash gets underway from 7.30 pm on Tuesday 21st April, 2024 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.

GT vs PBKS Betting Odds

The Titans are worthy league leaders – but I’m plumping for the PBKS to get the win they need to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The odds makers currently have the Titans as heavy favourites – you can find odds as short as 1.80 with some Indian sports betting sites. The PBKS at 2.05 heads my cricket betting tips for this crunch clash.

GT vs PBKS Betting Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back the Punjab Kings to win @ 1.8 with Parimatch

These GT vs PBKS betting tips weren’t easy to compile – I have been blown away by the excellent performance from the Gujarat Titans this season. As far as sporting season debuts go by a franchise, this one is right up there!

They are deserved favourites coming into this tie, and I would not be shocked if they proved the bookies correct – but there is something about this PBKS side I cannot ignore.

Over recent games, they are not proving easy to back. Indeed, they have lost three of their last four to seriously endanger playoff aspirations. However, I am taken by their approach to cricket. They go hard or they go home – English firecracker Liam Livingstone embodies this approach. The Lancastrian has hit 263 runs this season at an average of 29.33 and a strike rate of 178.91 – the highest for a player with more than 225 runs this year.

I also look back to the fixture between these two earlier in the season – the GT had no right to win that game, requiring 12 from two balls to get over the line. The IPL’s breakout performer Rahul Tewatia provided the astonishing finish to win the game for his team on that occasion, but the Kings were all over the Titans for the majority of the match.

I will be placing my bullish bet on the PBKS with Parimatch – they are a leading Indian betting site with a broad range of betting markets. You can find out more about them and read our full Parimatch review here.

Today’s GT vs PBKS Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Shikar Dhawan to score 50+ runs @ 3.0 with 10CRIC

The Indian legend is blowing hot and cold in this campaign – but has come to life intermittently and he lies sixth in the Orange Cap standings. His role in the top order has been to be the more conservative player – a strike rate of 126.33 confirms an uncharacteristic approach to opening the batting for the PBKS.

He has hit two fifties this season and scored 35 from 30 balls against the Titans back in April.

I am going to back him to bag his third half century of the campaign and I will place the bet with 10CRIC – an exciting Indian online betting site with thousands of pre-match and in-play markets and a particular focus on individual player bets.

GT Recent Form

The league leaders have been in sensational form all campaign and deservedly play pied piper to the chasing pack with only five games to go.

It’s hard to see how the Gujarat Titans don’t make the playoffs now – but they will have greater ambitions in finishing first and getting two bites of the cherry to advance to the final.

A win tonight would make it six in a row following their win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.

Team News

The Titans have a clean bill of health and are likely to stick with a recent winning formula.

Player to Watch: Rahul Tewatia

If there is an ungettable total for this man, I am yet to see it. Time after time in this tournament, Tewatia steps up to deliver the runs when his team needs it most. All campaign he has exhibited spades upon spades of character, and is one of the biggest reasons the Titans are top.

His recent innings against the Royal Challengers Bangalore perfectly encapsulates the vale this man retains for his franchise.

Arriving at the crease with the score at 95/4 – he hammered 45 runs from 25 balls to see his side over the target of 170 with three balls to spare.

It’s hard not to place a speculative bet on the finisher to end up as his team’s highest run scorer – I will back him at 9.50 with Betway.

GT’s Likely XI

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Abhinav Manohar, Rashid Khan, Varun Aaron, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami.

PBKS Recent Form

Very poor. A solitary win against a struggling Chennai Super Kings is the only thing Punjab Kings’ fans have to cheer about.

Last time out against the Lucknow Super Giants, a disappointing batting collapse meant they couldn’t reach a very chaseable target of 155 – falling to 133/8 and a 20-run defeat.

One positive from that performance was their bowling unit – Kagiso Rabada picking up four wickets in a devastating spell to help limit the Super Giants’ free scoring side.

Team News

There are no new injury concerns for the PBKS, but plenty of questions surrounding the form of certain players – not least skipper Mayank Agarwal, who is due a significant score.

However, it is likely the Kings will stick with the same XI as the defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants.

Player to Watch: Liam Livingstone

A contender for the most exciting player of the tournament, Livingstone stamps his authority whenever he is at the crease – even when it’s for a relatively short time.

His strike rate attests to his explosiveness, and he adds such a bite to the PBKS’ middle order.

I will take a punt on him to finish the top run scorer for the Kings – you can back him at 5.50 with Betway.

PBKS’ Likely XI

Shikar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Harpreet Brar, Sandeep Sharma, Rahul Chahar, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh.

Venue & conditions

The Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai is proving a tricky venue for the teams batting first of late – in four of the last five IPL games at this ground, the target failed to go past the 160 mark.

Rarely has a team opted to bat first in the IPL – and I can see the toss-winning captain taking to the field off the back of that trend.
