Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Betting Odds

We’re going to give you the best cricket betting tips on this game, plus of course today’s CPL odds on it.

Both sides play each other in their final two group matches in a bid to qualify for the playoffs. Interestingly, they are tied at eight points but the Tallawahs come out at the top with a much higher net run rate.

For this match, I’m going to back Jamaica Tallawahs – they have looked far better and composed as a unit this season than their Guyana counterparts.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Patriots Betting Tips & Predictions

Jamaica Tallawahs Team News

The consistently inconsistent Jamaica Tallawahs must be a frustrating team to watch if you’re a fan of theirs. That said, they have been fairly impressive in their last couple of matches, particularly when it comes to batting.

It is not surprising since batting is their strong suit, especially with the presence of Andre Russell in the middle order. His ability to find runs quickly in middle-order has often proven to be a difference between winning and losing.

Other than that, Kennar Lewis and Shamarh Brooks have been in fine form as well. In their last match against Saint Lucia Kings, the Tallawahs put up 211 runs on the board, courtesy of Lewis’ 56, Brooks’ 34, and Russell’s 31. They moved on to win by 55 runs.

In the match before, they posted 169 runs batting first against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots – and ended up winning by 22 runs.

With a strong batting attack and an equally daunting bowling line-up in the likes of Imad Wasim, Russell, and Carlos Braithwaite, the Tallawahs certainly look to be a formidable side.

Tallawahs’ Likely XI

Lewis, McKenzie, Brooks, Powell, Russell, Ali, Brathwaite, Wasim, Green, Pretorius, Edwards.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs Betting Tips & Predictions - CPL 2021

Guyana Amazon Warriors Team News

With four wins and four defeats so far this season, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are still alive in the competition although, they are at fifth place in the table with an NRR of -0.248.

Their prospects of reaching the playoffs are quite good, provided they manage to deliver with the bat and get a win or two under their belts.

Most recently, they played Saint Lucia Kings in a low-scoring affair where batting first, the Warriors posted figures of 151-6 (Brandon King’s 77 off 57 was instrumental in that regard).

The bowlers did well to defend that small total with Gudakesh Motie and Odean Smith picking two wickets each. Ultimately, they managed to restrict the Kings to 134-6 and won the match by 17 runs.

With two wins in the last three, the tide is slowly beginning to turn in their favour. But as I said, what they need the most now is a good batting display to up their net run rate.

Likely XI: King, Hemraj, Smith, Hetmyer, Malik, Pooran, King, Shepherd, Ul-Haq, Tahir, Smith.

Venue & conditions

The last couple of matches at Warner Park have been highly erratic when it comes to runs and wickets. The match between Tallawahs and Kings saw over 350 runs from the two sides but the preceding game of Barbados Royals-Trinbago Knight Riders saw 90-something runs in both innings.

It all comes down to how the players perform on the field on Saturday.

This being an afternoon fixture, temperatures will be on the higher side but no rain is predicted.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Kings Head-to-Head

The two sides have met 21 times in the CPL so far and it is the Guyana Amazon Warriors, who lead Jamaica Tallwahs by 12-8 with one match abandoned.

Saturday’s match will be their first meeting of the 2021 season.

In the toss department, it is the Tallawahs who have the upper hand with 11-9. Since Guyana have had better luck with the toss this season, let’s back them to maintain that streak on Saturday too.

Recommended Bet: Back Jamaica Tallawahs to win @ 1.7 with Pure Win

The fact that Jamaica Tallawahs have a stronger squad on paper than the Warriors is the reason why I’m backing them to win this match.

They have done well with the bat and ball this season, and with the presence of in-form Andre Russell in the team, the team is even more bolstered. Another thing that is working for them is the consistency of their batters – the likes of Lewis, Brooks, Powell, and Russell have contributed sufficient runs in their last couple of games to drive their team forward.

As for the Guyana Warriors, their shaky form and bouts with irregularity do not make them for a stable bet.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Migael Pretorious to be Top Bowler for Tallawahs @ 4.30 with 10CRIC.

The South African seamer has enjoyed a splendid spell this season in the Caribbean Premier League with 15 wickets so far. He is in fine form and looks confident to keep up this good run.

Facing a team that has struggled to deliver with the bat this season, Pretorious has got a wonderful opportunity here to add a few more wickets to his tally and possibly, emerge as the team’s top bowler that day.
