It’s the penultimate game of the IPL season – can I find some winning MI vs DC betting tips?

The Mumbai Indians have the chance to close a harrowing season on a high when they take on the playoff-chasing Delhi Capitals in the penultimate game of what has been an unforgettable regular season in the IPL.

It’s a repeat of the clash that got both franchises’ campaigns underway at the start of the season – back then, the Capitals made light work of a 178-run target to secure a four wicket win. The Capitals know a win here will see them into the playoffs ahead of the Royal Challengers Bangalore thanks to their superior net run rate.

Will the Capitals come out on top once again? Or can the MI save some face? I have been looking at the live cricket satta rates to formulate my best bets. The action gets underway from 7.30 pm (IST) on Saturday 21st May at the Wankhede Stadium.

MI vs DC Betting Odds

There have been several difficult cricket predictions to make throughout the IPL, but finding my premium MI vs DC betting tips didn’t take me too long.

I think the Capitals will win comfortably and confirm the season-long form from both sides.

MI vs DC Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back the Delhi Capitals to win @ 1.62 with Parimatch

My MI vs DC betting tips stem from a season’s worth of insight and expectation from two teams at polar opposite ends of the form table.

The Mumbai Indians are the most successful side in the history of the Indian Premier League, but have had a shocking season overall, and are battling to avoid the ignominy of finishing last in the standings.

The Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, are finishing the campaign strongly – they have won three of the last four matches to keep their destiny in their hands. Indeed, it’s been quite the comeback by the Capitals – they lost four of their opening seven games, but have had a much stronger second half to the season.

I’m going to place my match winner bet with Parimatch – they are a leading gambling site specialising in pre-match and in-play cricket betting opportunities. For more information, read our Parimatch review.

Today’s MI vs DC Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back David Warner to be Capitals’ top scorer @ 3.5 with 10CRIC

You know what you get with David Warner – the pocket rocket can go hard or go home early (or very early, in the case of his golden duck against the Punjab Kings last time out).

However, if you can disregard his very recent troubles with the bat, he has had a sensational season for the Capitals. He has hit 427 runs to become their highest run scorer, despite playing two matches fewer than his teammates.

He is averaging 53.37 at a massive strike rate of 151.95 – scoring the second-most number of fours of any IPL batsman, with only Jos Buttler ahead of him.

I am going to back Warner to top score and I am going to do so with 10CRIC – they are one of the leading online betting sites for individual player bets. Read our 10CRIC review to find out more.

MI Recent Form

If you can compare the Mumbai Indians of recent times with how they started the season, their recent form stacks up pretty well!

After a run of eight straight defeats, the MI finally stopped the rot with a win over the Rajasthan Royals and have since won a further two games to climb up to six points – just two ahead of the all-time lowest record of four points.

It’s mystifying to me that a team comprising the likes of Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah are at the foot of the table – but it’s been a desperately poor season for the most successful side in the competition’s history.

Team News

Jofra Archer has been absent all season – his express pace has been conspicuous in its absence, particularly with Bumrah’s lack of form.

There are now real concerns the Englishman will be a doubt for IPL 23 after news broke on Wednesday that Archer had suffered a stress fracture of the lower back.

Aside from Archer, there are no new injury concerns for the Mumbai Indians.

Player to Watch: Tim David

It was quite the performance from the Singaporean-Australian talisman, who smashed 46 runs off just 18 balls to give his team a chance in chasing 190 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad last time out before a moment of madness saw him run out to cost himself a half century and his team victory.

Could we see a promotion of Tim David in the batting order? Currently, you can back him to score more than 18.5 runs at 1.85 with Betway. I will be taking a piece of that action.

Mumbai Indians’ Likely XI

Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Daniel Sams, Sanjay Yadav, Mayank Markande, Riley Meredith, Jasprit Bumrah.

DC’s Recent Form

They are hitting their straps at the right moment – their 17-run victory against the Punjab Kings on Monday means they just need to win to ensure progression to the playoffs.

The Capitals finished top of the regular standings last season, but fell desperately short in the playoffs – failing to follow up their promise in spectacular fashion by losing both qualifiers.

Will they reverse the fortunes? Sneak into the playoffs through the back door but then dominate in the finals? I wouldn’t bet against it!

Team News

The Delhi Capitals revealed on Twitter on Sunday that Privthi Shaw had missed the last three games due to a bout of typhoid, for which he was hospitalised.

It remains to be seen if he will be available for the clash against the Mumbai Indians, but he is recuperating with DC medical staff.

There are no further injury issues for the Capitals to deal with.

Player to Watch: Mitchell Marsh

The experienced Australian campaigner may have played second fiddle to compatriot Warner this season, but he has been stepping up in recent games – particularly against the PBKS, where his crucial 63 stitched together an innings that scraped to 159/7.

He looks to be in great nick – I’ll have an interest bet on Marsh to be man of the match with Betway. You can get odds of 8.50 with the leading Indian online betting site.

Delhi Capitals’ Likely XI

David Warner, Privthi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Andre Nortje, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman

Venue & conditions

The Wankhede Stadium has been a bit of a mixed bag of late, though a team has yet to score 200+ runs since the Rajasthan Royals (222/2) beat the Delhi Capitals (207/8) back on April 22nd.

Three of the last four matches at this venue have been won by the team batting last.
