Hyderabad Team News

Six losses in seven matches this season – not the kind of performance that you would expect from a team like SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are facing big, big problems of their own, starting with the whole controversy around David Warner’s captaincy and his omission from playing XI in the last match. There are now rumours that we may have seen the last of Warner dawning the Orange Army jersey.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson played his first game for Hyderabad as the captain but couldn’t produce a favourable result as they lost to Rajasthan Royals by 55 runs. Mohammad Nabi had only his second start for the team and had an uneventful bowling spell.

All things considered, their problems still remain the same – if anything, Warner’s fiasco may just exacerbate things for them. SRH are at the bottom of the table and in all likelihood, they may end the season there if things don’t change for them soon.

At this point, Jason Holder or Mujeeb ur Rahman may also be brought in at the expense of two international players to add some depth and versatility to the team.

Likely XI: Warner, Jadhav, Bairstow, Pandey, Samad, Shankar, Holder, Khan, Kumar, Ahmed, Natarajan

Mumbai Team News

Mumbai Indians are finally starting to play like champions as they now sit at fourth place in the table with four wins from seven games.

They have won their last two matches in a row, both of which have been high-scoring games. Most recently, they beat their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings by 4 wickets in a game that saw both sides hit 200+ runs.

Kieron Pollard hit a blazing 87 off 34 comprising eight 6s to singlehandedly help MI reach the Herculean target of 219 runs set by CSK. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock stitched upwards of 60 runs together while the Pandya brothers also had a brief cameo.

Their bowling, however, could do with a slight revamp. Delhi’s batting pitch is not supporting the bowlers that much and it wouldn’t be the worst thing to bring in either Adam Milne or Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Within batting, we may see Chris Lynn get another chance along with the possible addition of Saurabh Tiwary and Piyush Chawla.

Likely XI: Rohit, De Kock, Yadav, Kishan, Pollard, Hardik, Krunal, Milne, Chahar, Bumrah, Boult

Venue & conditions

The pitch in Delhi continues to favour batsmen with the last couple of matches seeing the first innings total exceeding 200 runs. In fact, there is yet to be a match here in the IPL 2021 where the batting first hasn’t scored more than 150 runs or even lose more than four wickets.

Expect another high-scoring innings on the cards with dew set to make things difficult for the bowling side in the second inning.

SRH v MI Head-to-Head

Mumbai Indians lead 9-8 after beating Hyderabad in the first leg of this fixture a few weeks ago.

MI won that match by 13 runs in Chennai as Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult oversaw the dismantling of SRH’s batting line-up.

Toss Winner

Mumbai won the toss in their last game against SRH and thus lead Hyderabad by a healthy margin in the toss department too.

Mumbai Indians have also won the toss in their last two matches in the league and thus, we are going to back them to win the toss again and make it three in a row.

SRH v MI Coin Toss Stats for IPL 2021

Mumbai 10 58.82%
Hyderabad 7 41.18%

Hyderabad v Mumbai Match Winner

Recommended Bet: Back MI to win @ 1.56 with Casumo

If things were looking fairly better for Hyderabad, we would have probably gone with them in this fixture. However, it is certainly not the case for them, making MI the preferred bet here.

Mumbai’s batting order is firing and has proven itself to be quite dangerous. Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, and Kieron Pollard are the big guns, two of whom have had a great time batting on Delhi’s track. By contrast, SRH’s batting line-up is struggling, weary, and low on confidence and form.

Secondly, Mumbai Indians are also quite clinical right now and have plenty of talent at their disposal to mix things up, especially in the bowling department. As for Sunrisers Hyderabad, they are looking to optimise their batting and bowling but the results haven’t worked out in their favour.

MI do come out on the top from every angle possible here and are certainly on track to make it 2 for 2 against SRH in IPL 2021.

Kieron Pollard to hit 3+ Fours

Recommended Bet: Back Pollard to hit 3+ Fours @ 2.50 with Betway

As a middle-order batsman, Pollard is tasked with hitting boundaries and scoring runs in the final overs of the inning. Whenever he bats, boundaries seem to be the norm.

Following his blitzkrieg against Chennai Super Kings, he is not only more than likely to retain his place in the starting XI, but may also be bumped up in the order to have him face more balls and wreak more damage.

In other words, hitting over 3 fours for a player like Pollard is no big deal – he just needs the time to execute it. The fact that he is available at such great odds makes for an attractive bet.

Today’s SRH v MI Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: MI Top Bowler: Rahul Chahar @ 3.50 with 10CRIC

Rahul Chahar has been absolutely brilliant in the IPL 2021. He is the leading wicket-taker for MI with 11 wickets in 7 matches. He bowls his entire spell and has often emerged as the top performer for Mumbai.

Plus, he was also the top bowler in the game against Rajasthan Royals on the Delhi pitch.

Hyderabad v Mumbai Fun Statistics
