We are into the do or die stages of the competition – but only one side in this clash has a chance of making the IPL Playoffs. I’ve been looking at the best MI vs SRH betting predictions ahead of the clash, which takes place from 7.30 pm (IST) on Tuesday 17th May at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Mumbai Indians may have won five of their last six matches against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, however they come into this clash off the back of an atrocious campaign.

The online cricket satta bazar suggests a win for Kane Williamson’s charges – and given the importance of the tie, I am also leaning toward a win for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

MI vs SRH Betting Odds

I will be backing the team in orange as part of my MI vs SRH betting strategy – they are on a tragic run of form, but this a must-win match for the SRH.

They are the outsiders at 1.95 with Parimatch – I think that gives too much credit to a beleaguered Mumbai Indians outfit. For better odds, check my Hot Bet. Alternatively, keep an eye for other well-researched cricket betting tips throughout the article.

MI vs SRH Betting Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back SRH to win @ 1.95 with Parimatch

There are several reasons why I’m going with Kane Williamson and his side as part of my MI vs SRH betting approach – mainly because I feel like there is good value behind their price.

A wretched run of form they may be on, but the SRH still have the more outstanding results of the two. Not only are they ahead of the MI in the league standings, they also have one of the brightest talents to emerge from IPL 22 (more on Umran Malik in my Hot Bet predictions).

I can’t see why oddsmakers have them as outsiders, and I intend to take advantage.

My betting prediction is as much about the capabilities of the Sunrisers as it is about the deficiencies in the Indians. They may have won three of their last four games, but each of those victories owed more to individual brilliance or the collapse of opposing batting line-ups than the depth of their roster.

I will be placing my bet with Parimatch – an international oddsmaker that provides its customers with a sensational promotional offering. You can read our Parimatch review to get the full lowdown.

MI vs SRH Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Umran Malik to be SRH’s top bowler @ 3.5 with 10CRIC

I backed Umran Malik to take 2+ wickets for the Sunrisers in their game against the Kolkata Knight Riders – and he duly obliged, taking 3/33 from four overs.

His express pace has been causing problems for batsmen all season long – taking 18 wickets at an average of 22.05 per wicket. He is proving expensive – his average economy rate is up at 9.02 – but his skipper doesn’t mind taking the hit when he is capable of causing such destruction.

I will be backing the young firecracker to be top wicket-taker for the Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Mumbai Indians. He still has a shot at claiming the Purple Cap – and a performance with the ball here will not only keep him in the hunt for personal glory, but could likely see his franchise live to fight another day.

I will back my prediction with 10CRIC – they are my go-to betting site for individual player betting markets. Read our 10CRIC review to find out more.

Mumbai Indians Recent Form

Operation face-save continues at pace for the Mumbai Indians – they have now won three of their last four matches and are within two points of arch-enemy Chennai Super Kings at the bottom of the table.

Daniel Sams, Kumar Kartikeya, and Riley Meredith wreaked havoc on the Super Kings’ line-up in the last match – bowling them out for 97 runs in just 16 overs before polishing off the target in just 14.5 overs.

Their recent performances do justify their favouritism, but I am not convinced of the depth in form of their line-up.

Team News

The loss of key batsman Suryakumar Yadav to a forearm injury was not as disastrous as I thought it might be. The Indian international was the only in-form batter for the Mumbai Indians, but they have managed well without him.

There are no fresh injury concerns for team management to worry about.

Player to Watch: Daniel Sams

He was awarded man of the match in the victory over the Chennai Super Kings for his brilliant spell of three wickets for 16 runs from three overs, and I’m fascinated to see how he goes once more here.

After a disappointing first few games for the Indians, Sams believes a period of reflection was responsible for his improved performances.

Talking to broadcast TV after the game, he said: “I had a little bit of time to look back on those performances. I just figured out that I was focusing on the batter too much and not focusing on my strengths.”

Mumbai Indians’ Likely XI

Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tristan Stubbs, Tilak Varma, Hrithik Shokeen, Daniel Sams, Randeep Singh, Tim David, Kumar Kartikeya, Riley Meredith, Jasprit Bumrah.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Recent Form

An unprecedented run of bad form has led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to scrapping for their IPL lives – and I wouldn’t have thought that after their run of five wins on the bounce back in April.

The biggest concern for Sunrisers management will be the way they are collapsing when chasing a target. In the previous two games, they were dismissed for 125 and finished 123/8 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

Despite their poor run of results, I still think the Sunrisers can get the job done here.

Team News

The Sunrisers welcomed back T Natarajan and Washington Sundar to their line-up for the defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders – though both didn’t have the impact franchise fans would have hoped for.

There are no fresh fitness doubts off the back of their defeat on Sunday.

Player to Watch: Washington Sundar

It’s been an injury hit campaign for the prodigiously talented all-rounder – split webbing in his hand has meant he’s been in and out of the team.

It was not the return to action he would have wanted on Sunday – managing 0/40 from four overs and just four runs from nine balls.

He is a steely character, however. I will have a small side bet on him to bounce back strongly and back him to be man of the match at 17.0 with Betway.

SRH’s Likely XI

Abishek Sharma, Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T. Natarajan.

It’s a tricky pitch analysis to make at the Wankhede Stadium. After two consecutive high-scoring affairs where more than 300+ match runs were scored, the result between CSK and MI here on Thursday yielded just 200 runs.

The trend, however, has been for higher scores at this venue – and I will bet on there to be 350+ runs with Betway’s pre-built specials.

Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Head-to-Head

As I mentioned at the start of this preview, the Mumbai Indians have dominated recent matches between these two – but the MI vs SRH head to head record is much closer.

The MI have won 10 games to the SRH’s eight.

Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Toss Prediction

The Sunrisers have lost their last two coin tosses on the trot – I think Kane Williamson will stop the rot and call correctly here.

SRH 7 38.89 %
