There are plenty of RR vs CSK betting avenues to pursue. Can Jos Buttler continue his scintillating IPL form? Will MS Dhoni lead his side away from the dreaded wooden spoon? Will it be another high-scoring affair at the Brabourne Stadium?

I attempt to answer all those questions and more in my full IPL betting match preview! I have looked at all the live cricket satta rates to come up with the best value bets and mapped out the team news, facts, and figures ahead of the showdown.

The action gets underway from 7.30 pm (IST) at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday 19th May.

RR vs CSK Betting Odds

The RR vs CSK betting odds are currently siding with the Royals – and I find myself agreeing with the oddsmakers. They have great depth to their batting line-up, and their gun players are in fantastic form.

I will be backing the RR as part of my cricket predictions – but for bigger odds and more selections, scroll further below.

RR vs CSK Betting Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back Rajasthan Royals to win @ 1.71 with Parimatch

Why am I siding with Sanju Samson’s side in my RR vs CSK betting predictions? Their recent form isn’t living up the standards they set earlier in the campaign, and they are missing some key players.

Despite the recent tricky travails, I still think they have one of the most balanced sides in the Indian Premier League.

They bat all the way down to number 10 and despite having one of the worst number 11s in world cricket (Yuzvendra Chahal), they are as good for lower-order runs as they are at the top of the roster.

Talking of Chahal, the diminutive spin wizard is leading the way in the race for the Purple Cap – he has taken 24 wickets so far this tournament, one more than his nearest competitor Wanindu Hasaranga.

When you compare the squads of the Royals with the Super Kings, the quality of form on offer is like comparing chalk and cheese. However, the magic of MS Dhoni means you can never discount the Super Kings, no matter how poorly they are performing.

However, I’m going to place a confident bet on the Royals to win and I’m going to do it with Parimatch – they are a leading Indian betting site with internationally-renowned cricket betting markets. Find out more by reading our Parimatch review

RR vs CSK Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Jos Buttler to be Royals’ top batter @ 3.0 with Pure 10CRIC

Cards on the table – I am a big fan of English cricket, and therefore have a healthy bias to a man I regard to be one of our short format saviours.

That being said, I believe Buttler is in the form of his life on the subcontinent and there is more than enough justification in picking him to be the top batsman for the Royals.

He is leading the race for the Orange Cap, having hit 627 runs at an average of 52.25, and will be looking to bounce back after uncharacteristically failing against the Lucknow Super Giants with just two runs.

He’s too good to post back-to-back failures – I’m backing him to top score with 10CRIC. They are an Indian betting site that focuses on individual betting markets, providing the best odds on top batsman and top bowler markets. To find out more, read our 10CRIC review.

RR Recent Form

Mixed, and skipper Samson will be happy for his side’s early running in the tournament for them to be in the position they are in. They have won just two games from their last five – but those victories came over the high-flying LSG and a dangerous Punjab Kings outfit.

They just need one win to guarantee a place in the playoffs, and even back-to-back defeats may see them through if results go their way.

I don’t think it will come to that, though. They have been consistently better than the CSK all season long. The price on them to win is on the skinnier side, but that won’t stop me backing a Rajasthan Royals’ playoff-clinching victory.

Team News

Team management received a huge boost over the weekend – elite finisher Shimron Hetmyer is back in India and completing his Covid-19 isolation protocols.

The West Indies international went home to Guyana to tend to his newborn child and missed the last couple of weeks – but he’s back for the business end of the campaign and should return for the match against CSK.

He has hit 291 runs at an average of 72.75 this season, and will be an invaluable asset going into the final games.

There are no other injuries to concern the selectors.

Player to Watch: Trent Boult

We saw the best of the raking New Zealander against LSG on Sunday. After hitting a handy 17 from just nine balls, he delivered a typically disciplined bowling performance to take two wickets for 18 runs from four overs.

He hasn’t been as consistent as we would have liked – he has just 12 wickets at an average of 30.66 per wicket and an economy rate of 8.00.

However, we are talking about one of the world’s most experienced international bowlers – he will come into his own during the championship rounds, and he could be one to keep an eye on ahead of the playoffs.

RR’s Likely XI

Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c) (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravi Ashwin, Yuzvvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini

CSK’s Recent Form

Whatever minute chance the Chennai Super Kings had of making the playoffs evaporated in double quicktime in an embarrassing defeat to arch rivals Mumbai Indians last Thursday. Their collapse to 97 all out from just 16 overs led to a five-wicket defeat and sealed their fate in mediocrity for the IPL 22.

Whether it was a lack of confidence or a sense of all-round defeat and disappointment off the back of an underwhelming title defence, the Super Kings weren’t much better in their defeat to the Gujarat Titans on Sunday – losing comfortably by seven wickets.

I can’t see them being much better here.

Team News

Ex-captain Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out for the remainder of the IPL last week after reporting a bruised rib.

Other than his absence, there are no new injury concerns for team management to consider.

Player to Watch: Moeen Ali

The English all-rounder has been in fine nick of late, and was one of his side’s better performers once again against the Titans, scoring 21 runs and taking 1/11 from two overs.

Due to his all-round capabilities, he is always an option in the man of the match stakes – I will be backing him with Betway at odds of 10.0.

CSK’s Likely XI

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivram Dube, Simarjeet Singh, MS Dhoni (c, wk), Mitchell Santer, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Tushar Deshpande.

Venue & conditions

The Brabourne Stadium hosts its final game of IPL 22 in what has been a run-laden venue for batters to fill their boots. A total of 86.66% of the 15 games at the ground have seen a first innings score of 170 runs or more.

Runs on the board at Brabourne Stadium doesn’t always equate to victory, though. Only eight results have gone the way of the team batting first. However, the last four matches here have all been won by the team setting the score.
