Bangladesh, up 2-0 in the series, will look to make it a perfect three on Friday against a struggling Sri Lanka side. Low on confidence and momentum, the South Asian neighbours have a tough task of saving face and getting a consolation win.

In all likelihood, Bangladesh will start as the heavy favourites and we are backing them here at Bet India to make it 3-0.

Bangladesh Team News

Bangladesh have looked absolutely brilliant in the series, shining with the bat and ball in both the matches against Sri Lanka.

The collective experience of Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim has helped the Bengal Tigers bat with absolute finesse. The second ODI saw Rahim strike 125 runs – more than half the team’s total – in just 127 balls.

However, their opening batsmen – namely Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, and Shakib Al Hasan are yet to leave a big impression in the series.

In the bowling department, the 23-year-old Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been on fire with 7 wickets in 2 matches. Mustafizur Rahman has been just as good with 6 in that many games.

All in all, Bangladesh look superior in every aspect and we don’t expect them to make any changes ahead of the third ODI.

Likely XI: Iqbal, Das, Al Hasan, Rahim, Mithun, Mahmudullah, Hossain, Saifuddin, Mehidy, Ahmed, Rahman

Sri Lanka Team News

Sri Lanka are no longer the formidable side they once were. With just 1 win in their last 11 matches across all formats, Sri Lanka are struggling big, big time.

In a World Cup year, this bodes bad news for the team but there is still quite a bit of time to iron out the kinks.

Lack of runs has been a major problem for the Lankans in the ongoing series – their recognised batsmen have failed to guide their side successfully to the chase. All of their top seven batsmen yet to register a half-century in this series.

Despite some experience in the form of Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Perera, the boys haven’t been able to carry the batting line-up. Even in the last ODI, the entire team ended at 141-9, with Gunathilaka scoring the most at 24 runs.

Their saving grace has been their bowling but even then, they haven’t quite gotten the job done. Despite having Bangladesh in tricky situations, they failed to prevent them from posting match-winning totals.

Likely XI: Gunathilaka, Dickwella, Kusal Perera, Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Bandara, Shanaka, Hasaranga,  Udana, Sandakana, Chameera

Venue & conditions

We’re at Dhaka again for this one, the same venue as the last two games.

Bangladesh have been quite good with the bat on this pitch, having posted totals of close to 250 runs twice on this pitch. It wouldn’t be surprising if we see another competitive total again.

This time, however, rain may play spoilsport and totals may be adjusted as per the D/L rule. Conditions are expected to be hot and humid.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Head-to-Head

The Tigers beat Sri Lanka 2-0 to register their maiden ODI series win against Sri Lanka. Australia and England are the two teams that remain on the list of teams against whom they haven’t won an ODI series yet.

Even though Sri Lanka have enjoyed the better part of this fixture through the years, they are not the vintage side anymore. Expect Bangladesh to add yet another win to their tally.

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Head-to-Head Stats

Toss Winner

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka statistics show that though the Lankans are ahead on overall wins, it’s Bangladesh who have had the upper hand when it comes to the toss.

They have won the toss twice already this series and since we are backing them for a complete whitewash, let us go all the way and back them to win the toss once again too.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Match Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back Bangladesh to win @ 1.6 with Pure Win

Stars have aligned for Bangladesh and the stage is set for them to register one of their biggest series wins yet. Having snapped a 10-match losing streak by beating Sri Lanka in the first ODI, the Tigers will be keen on going the distance.

Their players are in form, they have considerable home advantage, and their opponents are all out of sorts. They won the last ODI by a comfortable margin of 103 runs (D/L method).

And to add a beautiful cherry to this cake for Bangladesh, the boys are at the top of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League table.

No matter how we look at it, Bangladesh come out on top.

Today’s Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Hasan Miraz to be Bangladesh Top Bowler @ 4.00 with 10 CRIC

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has picked up 7 wickets in his last 2 games; Mustafizur Rahman is a close second. There is not a lot of difference between them in terms of betting odds but Miraz seems like a better bet; he is young, confident, and in fantastic form.
