Manchester United vs Liverpool betting predictions
This is expected to be a thrilling encounter with plenty of football betting opportunities.
Things are not going as per the plan for the Red Devils, having slipped to 6th place in the table with 14 points. Wins have been difficult to come by, despite fielding an incredibly talented line-up that is the envy of the many clubs.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are marching resolutely at the top – currently placed second with 18 points. This is a side that has been notoriously difficult to beat but if there is a team who can end their winning streak, it is Cristiano Ronaldo-powered Manchester United.

Manchester United are in crisis mode and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is feeling the heat. Despite the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane in the summer, the club have not played as well as you would expect them to. If anything, they are struggling across the spectrum.
After what was a decent start to the Premier League campaign, Man United have lost two of their last three, salvaging just one point in the period. A shock defeat to Aston Villa was followed by a 1-1 draw to Everton while last weekend, they were thumped 4-2 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
As things stand, the Red Devils are five points behind the league leaders Chelsea – a gap that can very increase depending on the events on Sunday. But there is reason to be optimistic.
Ronaldo powered the former English champions to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Atalanta in the Champions League in an evening that saw them incur a two-goal deficit in the first half. United turned the game around in the final 45 minutes, courtesy of goals from Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire before the five-time Ballon d’Or winner struck the final goal.
It was a similar story in the match against Villarreal too – a comeback win sealed by Ronaldo. As long as he is on the pitch, there is every reason for United fans to be hopeful.
As for player availability, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Fred are doubtful ahead of Liverpool’s visit.
Jurgen Klopp could not have asked for a better start to their Premier League campaign from his men. They are unbeaten in the eight league games so far – the only team in the top division to achieve such a feat this season.
They are just one point behind the top-placed Chelsea and seeing that these are still early days, Klopp hasn’t got a lot to worry about in this regard.
The German will take pride in the sensational attack he is commanding, led by the holy trifecta of Mohammad Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane. After drawing against Brentford and Manchester City before the international break, the Reds delivered a strong win by whitewashing Watford with 5-0.
The match saw Firmino score a hat-trick with Salah and Mane also joining the celebrations with a goal each.
Liverpool have also maintained the same rhythm in the Champions League, defeating the likes of AC Milan, FC Porto, and Atletico Madrid, with the last two coming on their travels.
The fact that Klopp propelled the team to a resounding 3-2 win over the stubborn Colchoneros at the Wanda Metropolitano is a feat in itself. Once again, it was the Egyptian striker to the rescue, converting the penalty in the 78th minute.
As for player availability, there are no real concerns here as such. Curtis Jones may be available but Thiago and Harvey Eliott are likely to miss Sunday’s clash.
Liverpool Likely XI
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane

But more than that, they have the imperious machine that is Cristiano Ronaldo, who has made it a habit of winning the matches for his team over his illustrious career. He can inspire his fellow teammates to rise up to adversity and restake their claims, as he has done so many times in the past.
The team also continues to retain its faith in Solskjaer, giving the Norwegian another chance to redeem himself.
The stage is set for United to exorcise their old demons and they have got the necessary ammunition in their arsenal to do so.

Ronaldo has scored only three goals against Liverpool over his career and we expect him to add to this tally on Sunday.
The Portuguese forward is in fine form, having scored six goals in his last six appearances in all competitions. Given the importance of this fixture, it is just too difficult to imagine him not stepping up against the Reds and proving why he is one of the best in the world.
This one is a no-brainer. Neither of the two sides are defensively sound (especially Manchester United) so we can expect them to concede an odd goal or two. From an attacking point of view, there is plenty of forwards to go around, notably Mo Salah and Ronaldo.
When these two take the pitch on Sunday, it is only natural to expect a high goal-scoring affair.
