SRH vs PBKS Betting Odds

For my cricket betting tips on this game, I’m going with SRH to win it.

They’re in the same place in the table in terms of points and in addition to having a superb head-to-head record in the fixture over the years, are in slightly better form. Given they’re also the outsiders, and they’re an easy choice.

I’ll also have my usual toss winner pick and the SRH vs PBKS betting odds for my Hot Bet: the third tip at bigger odds than usual.

I’m going with one of SRH’s openers to top score for them at a surprisingly big price. Can you guess who it is?

SRH vs PBKS Betting Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back SRH to win @ 2.00 with Betway

It’s interesting that Punjab are warm favourites here.

They have the same number of points, while Punjab are fresh from a poor defeat against Delhi and SRH won a tense match against Mumbai, where they batted well for a change.

And as you’ll see towards the end of this preview, SRH have an excellent head to head record against them so history suggests Hyderabad should be the ones in the driving seat here.

Maybe the bookies are paying too much attention to the fact that Kane Wilalimson is absent for SRH.

But maybe that’s actually a good thing for them.

He’s had a shocker with the bat all season and not always made the best captaincy decisions so it may actually be a bit of a blessing in disguise.

There’s also a case to be made for SRH having considerably the better bowling line-up.

All things considered, it should be the Sunrisers who are favourites so we have to take advantage.

And here’s our Betway review, with all the info you need to know about a highly recommended betting site who offer generous odds, good bonuses and a top-class live betting product.

Plus of course, all the latest SRH vs PBKS betting markets and odds.

SRH vs PBKS Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Priyam Garg to be SRH Top Batsman @ 7.07 with 10CRIC

Three of the things we always look for, discussed in our top batsman betting guide are a) good form b) batting position and c) odds that are better than what they should be.

In this regard, Parag ticks all three boxes.

He just scored a brisk 42, he opens the batting which is the best place to bat and he’s available at really big odds given the first two factors!

The other advantage he has is that with Williamson not playing and likely to be replaced by an all-rounder, he has one less proper batsman to beat.

So lots going in Garg’s favour.

SRH Recent Form

The Sunrisers won a game at last after a long losing run and it was an absolute thriller.

Playing Mumbai, they posted a very competitive 193/6 thanks to strong contributions from Rahul Tripathi in particular (76 off 44) but also good knocks from Nicholas Pooran (38 off 22) and Priyag Garg (42 off 26).

They were then in control for much of Mumbai’s chase only to come unstuck at the very end thanks to a late assault by Tim David who at one stage smashed three sixes in a row.

At that stage Mumabi were hot favourites to complete the turnaround but David got run out trying to pinch the strike, Bhuvi Kumar bowled a brilliant next over and Mumbai just had too much to do in the final over, meaning SRH survived. Just.

It makes you wonder why SRH didn’t bat first more often. They chased in just about every match but look better suited to batting first because they didn’t seem good at handling the pressure of a run chase, especially the big totals. But that’s not worth worrying about now.

To have any chance of making the Playoffs, Hyderabad would have to win this one comfortably and hope that Delhi and Punjab both lose heavily. Near-on impossible for SRH.

Team News

Skipper Kane Williamson will miss the game to go home and attend the birth of his child.

We love Williamson here at Bet India with his calm demeanor, love of fairplay and stylish batting but it’s fair to see he’d had a really poor season both in terms of captaincy and his own batting.

It will be interesting to see if SRH persist with him as captain next year.

One of Nicholas Pooran or Bhuvi Kumar will surely step in as skipper. The smart money is on Pooran, recently appointed West Indies white-ball skipper, to take charge.

That opens up an overseas spot so they may play an all-rounder in Sean Abbott or batsman Glenn Phillips.

Player to Watch: Umran Malik

It’s been something of an up-and-down tournament for Umran Malik.

He’s not only the fastest bowler in the IPL ever but is apparently also the quickest bowler India has ever had. He’s bowled at 157mph and if he does that in international cricket, he may well be the fastest bowler ever in international cricket.

His pace has allowed him to claim 21 wickets in 13 games and he’s currently the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the competition.

Former India coach Ravi Shahstri has already said he should be fast-tracked into red-ball cricket and that his pace would be an asset to India in Test cricket very soon.

But Malik hasn’t had it all his own way. His economy rate of 8.93 is the highest among the Top 7 bowlers in terms of wickets and in consecutive matches he went 0/48 and 0/52.

But he’s incredibly quick as we know and if he can become more accurate and consistent, he’ll be a world beater sooner rather than later.

It’s 3.75 with Betway that he’s their top bowler in what will probably be their last match of the season.

Here’s our Betway review, where you’ll find out why we recommend it as a trustworthy, safe and extremely reliable betting site.

SRH’s Likely XI

Sharma, Garg, Tripathi, Markram, Pooran, Sundar, Abbott, Kumar, Natarajan, Farooqi, Malik.

PBKS Recent Form

The Kings failed to chase the 159/5 set by Delhi and with that, their chances look well and truly gone.

They probably should have won that game but you’re not going to win matches when no-one in your Top 5 gets to 30.

Their strength was meant to be in their batting with the likes of Dhawan, Rajaspaksa, Bairstow and Livingstone but very rarely did more than one of them fire in the same match. And in this match, none of them fired.

They’ll probably look to balance things up a bit next season and will try to bring in a top-class overseas spinner perhaps but let’s wait and see.

We’ll also see if they keep Mayank Agarwal on as skipper or look to someone else next year.

Team News

P Rajaspaksa has been badly out of form for a few games now with scores of just 27, 1 and 4 in his last few games.

A couple of good knocks from him could have made a big difference to their fortunes.

It may be too little too late but it may be time to bring back the powerful Odean Smith.

Let’s see if he returns for this one.

Player to Watch: Jonny Bairstow

It’s been an up and down tournament for Jonny Bairstow.

He started the tournament batting at number four but then swapped places with skipper Agarwal, who was struggling for runs.

That helped Bairstow’s cause, who in his last five matches scored 32,1, 56, 66 and 28.

But if there’s one thing Bairstow needs to do is occasionally reign in his attacking instincts.

The game against Delhi was a good example of that.

He was on 28 off 15 balls with his side making a good start but just played one big shot too many.

Had he stayed in and played sensibly they would have probably won the match but he couldn’t resist, got out and Punjab folded from that point onwards.

PBKS fans will be hoping he learns from his mistakes going forward. As will England fans when the World Cup comes sound.

He’s 8.5 with Betway to be man-of-the-match in this game.

Here’s our Betway review, where you’ll find out why we recommend it as a trustworthy, safe and extremely reliable betting site.

PBKS’s Likely XI

Bairstow, Dhawan, Rajapaksa, Livingstone, Agarwal, Sharma, Dhawan, Brar, Rabada, Chahal, Singh.

Venue & conditions

We’re back at the Wankhede for this one.

Last time we were here was for that win by SRH against Mumbai where they posted and defended 193/6.

Before that there were some extremely low scores. CSK were all out for 97, and before that one CSK got just 133.

But those two low scores were very much an anomaly because this has historically been a high-scoring ground.

Proof of that is that in the two matches before those low-scoring ones, both RCB and Punjab got first innings scores very close to 190.

So going for 190 runs or more in Live Betting could pay off, especially if it’s Punjab batting first.

SRH vs PBKS Head-To-Head

SRH are 13-5 up against Punjab in one of the most one-sided head-to-head records in the IPL.

It’s pretty surprising because though Hyderabad have won the IPL once, they haven’t exactly been a dominant force. They obviously just like playing Punjab.

SRH vs PBKS Toss Prediction

TEAM TOSS WIN %
SRH 7 36.84 %
PBKS 12 63.16 %

If SRH have bossed the head-to-head, then PBKS have bossed the toss winner market. Not that it’s been much good to them by the look of things! But it’s hard to argue with PBKS’s toss winner record so it’s worth going with them again.
